Award offered Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GradDipLP) (36 credit points)
Courses offered Full-time (1 semester in duration) -
2 intakes per year: Autumn Semester (March-Jun) and Spring Semester (Aug-Nov), followed by 16 weeks full-time (or equivalent part-time) approved practical experience.
This course is offered in either on-campus or distance modes (with limited on-campus attendance).

Part-time (2 semesters in duration) -
2 intakes per year: Autumn Semester (March-Jun) and Spring Semester (Aug-Nov), followed by 16 weeks full-time (or equivalent part-time) approved practical experience.
This course is offered in either on-campus or distance modes (with limited on-campus attendance).

The distance course includes two compulsory on-campus intensives. Practical experience is usually completed following the coursework component but may be undertaken concurrently with the part-time course.

The course comprises of the following seven subjects:
- Legal Skills
- Advocacy
- Property Transactions
- Commercial and Estate Practice
- Civil Litigation
- Ethics and Professional Conduct
- Practical Experience

Admission requirements Qualification in law recognised by the NSW Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB). Applicants must also complete any subjects outlined by the LPAB to meet the academic requirements for admission.
PLT in other UTS courses The UTS Practical Legal Training program can also be studied as an optional component within the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and the Juris Doctor (JD), in the final semester(s) of the degree. The UTS LLB is open to applicants who do not already hold a Bachelor of Laws, while the UTS JD is available to students who hold a Bachelor's degree in a non-law discipline and wish to attain a legal qualification.
